The Yad Vashem record directly states that Eichmann took no part in the Einsatzgruppen operations, which supports the claim that he never served in one. Other sources describe him supervising or coordinating Einsatzgruppen reporting, which is not the same as serving in a unit, so they do not contradict it.

Supports. Yad Vashem's Eichmann biography states that Eichmann 'nor did he take any part in the Einsatzgruppen operations,' while his representatives were active elsewhere.[2]
Context. The Historyplace biography says that under Eichmann's supervision, Einsatz groups in the Soviet Union turned to mass murder of Jews, and the remember.org timeline places him in charge of the Jewish affairs section that dealt with Einsatzgruppen matters. This describes supervisory or coordinating roles rather than service in an Einsatzgruppe.[3][4]
Context. Eichmann's own 1960 statement, quoted in Reuters commentary, denies killing Jews, which is consistent with the claim but is his self-description and not independent evidence.[1]
