Lula's win is strongly supported: Reuters, BBC and Folha all report him defeating Flávio Bolsonaro in the 2026 runoff. The 3 million margin is contradicted, since Reuters' vote totals (64.26M vs 59.83M) and the BBC both put the margin at about 4.4 million, so the claim's number is off by roughly a third.

… And I won't deny, like, it's weird, right, because the whole personal lawyer thing. However, if you look at the data, 36,000 people were voted after the order went into place. Lula won by 3 million, right? Also, both candidates asked for that delay, by the way. Correct, right? I mean, there was some, like, something about buses, but my point is, is that they're focusing on this, which, you know, potentially calls into question 36,000 votes. …

What we found

Contradicts. Reuters' official results show Lula with 64,256,232 votes and Flávio Bolsonaro with 59,826,041, a margin of about 4.4 million, not 3 million.[1]

Contradicts. The BBC and Valor both put Lula's margin at about 4.4 million votes, and CNN reports roughly 4.4 million more votes than Flávio, so the 3 million figure is inconsistent with the reporting.[3][4][5]

Supports. Multiple reliable sources report that Lula won the 2026 Brazilian presidential runoff over Flávio Bolsonaro, with about 51.8% of the vote.[1][3][4][6][7]

Context. Latin Times cites the TSE count as a margin of about 4.3 million ballots, which is also well above 3 million.[7]

Context. The 3 million figure is not the 2022 margin either: the 2022 runoff was decided by about 2 million votes, so the claim does not match any reported Brazilian margin.[2][5]
