The claim that the US brought in 20 million people illegally is contradicted by the record: Pew's estimates put the total undocumented population at about 14 million in 2023 and a 3.5 million rise over two years, and Newsweek's fact-check of the 20-million-entries allegation found it unsupported.

Our two reads of who says this, and how, disagree, so it counts as the post's own claim.

This claim is about the present, so it is judged as of the day it was checked.

What was said

… So, if we really want to, like if you really want to feel bad and cry about this story, lady, you should be mad at yourself and cry about yourself, because you're the one that caused it. When you bring in 20 million people and the rest of the country says, "No, we don't want those 20 million people here," but we have to get rid of them now, now all of a sudden, the people that, you know, we could collectively agree contribute to the society sometimes get mixed up in this shit, which is what we've been talking. …

What we found

Contradicts. A Newsweek fact-check examined the claim that as many as 20 million people entered the US illegally under Biden and found it not supported by the data, citing Pew's 14 million undocumented population in 2023.[2]

Contradicts. Pew data cited in the Altoona Mirror piece put the undocumented population at 14 million in 2023, with a 3.5 million increase over two years, well short of 20 million entries.[3]

Contradicts. The Rural Migration Blog reports unauthorized and quasi-authorized migrants rising from almost 11 million in 2020 to almost 16 million in 2024, a stock figure rather than 20 million entries.[1]

Contradicts. The Center for Immigration Studies and Hot Air's Census-based analysis estimate about 13.5 million illegal immigrants in July 2026, down from 15.8 million in January 2025.[4][5]

Context. USCIS reported about 2.2 million status revocations or terminations since January 2025, a count of enforcement actions that does not establish how many people entered illegally.[6]

Context. The post itself is the claimant's rhetoric; the 20 million figure is an allegation about open-border advocates' policies, and the claim's 'illegally' framing is an extraction addition supported only by the post's context about illegal aliens.
