The claim repeats a figure from the Real America Vote/NY Citizens Audit of the Mamdani election, which Reuters fact-checked and found to be a flawed methodology that did not establish the claimed invalid votes. The 6% fake-Social-Security figure appears in many sources, but those sources repeat the audit's claim, and the only independent assessment (Reuters) rejects the audit's conclusions.
What was said
… Mullen and myself are on the same page about that. And certainly, you know, the last time we spoke, we talked about the Mandani fraud investigation that Real America dot vote did, proving that 7% of the voters in that election don't even exist. 6% of them voted with fake Social Security numbers. Those lists are in the hands right now of John Sarco, the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District. He's investigating this aggressively with the FBI, and, uh, you know, if if Homeland wants us to run more of these voter history records, my gosh, we have it …

Contradicts. Reuters fact-checked the audit behind the claimed numbers and found it flawed; the report did not find the 228,000 unqualified votes or tie any specific votes to Mamdani.[1]
Context. The 6% fake Social Security figure comes from the same audit, which examined about 10,000 registrations and a subset of the roughly 2.2 million voters, and is repeated across partisan outlets and social posts without independent records behind it.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8]
Context. The sources do not provide an independent government or official record of the share of voters with invalid Social Security numbers in the 2025 NYC mayoral election.[1]
