The claim that the average wage in Ukraine is $250 a month is contradicted by sources reporting an average of roughly UAH 28,000 to 33,000 a month, about $680 to $800 at the exchange rates the sources cite, roughly three times the claimed figure.

Contradicts. Reuters (2026-06-12) reports the average monthly salary in Ukraine is the benchmark for military pay, which it converts to about $700 for 30,000 hryvnias, placing the national average near $700 rather than $250.[1]
