What we found

Supports. The DOJ's Western District of Washington press release says the office identified over 400 noncitizens who are registered to vote and have voted in multiple elections.[2]

Supports. Acting U.S. Attorney Neil Floyd is reported as saying some individuals voted as many as 27 times, with about 1,500 instances of ballot casting in total.[4]

Supports. CBS reports that prosecutors said some people on the list have voted more than two dozen times, which is consistent with the 27-vote figure.[3]

Context. Secretary of State Steve Hobbs raised concerns about the accuracy of the DOJ list, including multiple records of people who last voted in the 1990s. This disputes the list's reliability but does not state that the 27-vote figure is false.[3]

Context. Reuters notes that multiple state audits and independent studies have found voter fraud, including noncitizen voting, to be very rare. The sources do not independently verify the DOJ's individual counts.[1]
