What we found

Supports. Radio Seoul (Oct 25) reports that Catawba College political scientist Michael Bitzer's analysis found registered Democrats' participation up 47% and unaffiliated voters' up 60% versus the 2022 midterms at the same point.[1]

Supports. Yahoo, citing The Hill (Oct 24), reports the same Bitzer analysis: Democrats up 47% and unaffiliated voters up 60% compared with the same stage of 2022, through Oct. 22.[2]

Context. An Oct. 20 Assembly NC report found Democratic early voting up 53% and unaffiliated voting up 62% over the first five days compared with 2022, consistent with the claimed direction and rough magnitude at an earlier snapshot.[3]

Context. A Nov. 1 NC Political Center analysis reports Democrats 46% of the early vote and 32% ahead of their 2022 numbers at the end of early voting. This is a later snapshot with different comparison figures, not a contradiction of the October 22 figures.[4]
