Polling averages from late October show Democrats ahead in all three races, but by different margins: Alaska is about 2 points, while Texas (about 3.9) and Ohio (about 2.8 to 4.7) run somewhat above 'a point or two'.

A detail. The sources confirm the gist; the verdict faults a detail such as a date, number or wording.

What we found

Contradicts. Averages for Texas and Ohio run larger than 'a point or two': FiftyPlusOne has Talarico ahead by 3.9 and Brown by 2.8, and the On Point average has Brown up 4.7 as of Nov 1.[2][3]

Supports. Alaska polling shows Peltola narrowly ahead of Sullivan, roughly 1.8 points in the FiftyPlusOne average and 2 points in the NYT/Siena poll, which fits 'a point or two'.[2][5][6]

Supports. Individual polls span the claimed magnitude, including Texas ties (Fox, 49-49) and small leads, and Ohio leads of 1 to 8 points in Reuters' October reporting.[1][4][7]

Context. Some polls show larger Democratic leads than the claim implies, such as Cook's Texas poll at +5 and NBC's Texas listing at +4.2, so the magnitude depends on which poll or average is used.[4][7]
