Multiple tier1 sources confirm that Trump and DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin publicly claimed in July 2026 that DHS had identified roughly 250,000 to 278,000 noncitizens registered to vote, so the claim that they claimed to have uncovered hundreds of thousands is supported.

The host relays this claim without endorsing it. It counts as passed on, not against the post.

What was said

… Now, he has the ballots will be returned and destroyed, but no, this is not going to result in anything for him personally. He just can't continue his investigation. Speaking of allegations of election fraud, earlier this summer, Trump and DHS Secretary Mark Wayne Mullen claimed they had uncovered hundreds of thousands of non-citizens who were registered to vote, and we didn't report on these claims in depth because the White House provided no evidence for these extraordinary claims. …

What we found

Supports. FactCheck.org reports Trump said DHS identified approximately 278,000 noncitizens registered to vote in federal elections, and that the White House released a DHS document claiming over 250,000 in four states.[1]

Supports. PolitiFact reports Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin both spotlighted the figure, with Mullin saying in a July 17 news conference, "We've identified 250,000 noncitizens registered to vote in just four states."[2]

Supports. AP reports the Trump administration claimed without providing evidence that 250,000 noncitizens might be on the rolls in four states, and Snopes reports Trump and Mullin claimed DHS found 35,152 non-citizen registered voters in New Jersey alone.[3][4]

Contradicts. The sources say the figures lack evidence and are unreliable: DHS did not explain its methodology, and in Nevada DHS's initial 15,903 figure was reduced to 185 names, all of whom officials found to be citizens eligible to vote.[1][5]

Context. Snopes rates the New Jersey claim Mostly False, noting that a state software error registered 6,600 noncitizens, and that fewer than 400 of them cast ballots. The sources also describe a Pennsylvania letter that said only 8,594 matched as non-citizens.[4][7]

Context. The claim's wording was taken from a passage that reports the claim as made "earlier this summer." The post spells the DHS Secretary's name "Mullen" while sources spell it "Mullin"; this is a spelling variant that does not change the referent.[2][6]
