The claimed toll of roughly 200 to 250 killed in the 1905 Kiev pogrom is about two to five times the 47 to 100 deaths that the sources report, citing historian William Fuller and the NLI bibliographic record. The extracted claim matches the passage's figures, and the post's own 'hospital' detail does not change the sources' count.

What was said

… They were extremely well organized, they were wealthy, they were well armed, far better off financially, anyway, than the Russians who they lived close to. What we found

Contradicts. The NLI record of the East European Jewish Affairs article describes the Kiev pogrom of October 1905 as having killed 47 people and injured over 300.[1]

Contradicts. Wikipedia's Kiev pogrom article, quoting historian William C. Fuller, puts the death toll at between 47 and 100 people, and the Ukrainian-language version gives the same range.[2][3]

Context. Encyclopedia.com says the Kiev violence claimed 'hundreds of Jewish victims' without a specific count, and Bnei Israel's 800 to 3,000 Jewish dead figure refers to the whole October 1905 wave of pogroms, not Kiev alone.[4][5]

Context. No source gives a Kiev-specific toll of 200 to 250, and the Jewish Virtual Library's 300-plus dead refers to Odessa, not Kiev.[6]
