The claim's 80% figure for 1700 is not stated in any source. Sources give about 350,000 Jews in Poland in 1700 (Encyclopedia.com) and a worldwide Jewish population of about 1.2 million around 1750 (Wikipedia, Jewish Journal), which implies a 1700 share far below 80%.

What was said

… Poland was the largest country in Europe. The king was mostly toothless for the most part, and it was an oligarchy of, of landed magnates. And by 1700, it was about 80% of the Jewish population lived in the Polish Empire, and they very tightly controlled it because the aristocracy who controlled the country did not engage in any kind of banking or administration or trade in the cities. What we found

Contradicts. Encyclopedia.com states that most estimates put the Jewish population of Poland in 1700 at about 350,000, while Jewish numbers reached about 750,000 only by 1750.[1]

Contradicts. Sources put the world Jewish population at about 1.2 million around 1750, and Poland's 750,000 Jews at that date was about 70% of it, so a 1700 Polish count of about 350,000 implies a much smaller share than 80%.[2][3]

Context. A YIVO chronology says the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth held close to 850,000 Jews in 1791, about 80% of world Jewry. The 80% figure is attached to 1791, not 1700.[4]

Context. A 1720 estimate of about 375,000 Jews in Poland-Lithuania (Oxford chapter) is also far below the share the claim requires for 1700.[5]
