The claim that Trump ended DACA earlier in 2026 is contradicted by the sources, which describe the program as still in effect despite administration efforts to undermine it. Reporting describes renewal delays, halted approvals for new applicants, and enforcement against recipients, but no formal termination.

What was said

… That was a memorial to Marines, that famous memorial, Iwo Jima, and an illegal alien came in from Mexico in December of 1999, was given DACA status, deferred, basically deferred action, by the dear leader. This continued under Biden. Trump ended, thankfully, DACA earlier this year. It's gone, it's done. And how did this guy pay us back? He took a sledgehammer, decapitated the head of one of the Marines in that beautiful sculpture, that beautiful memorial, and then, according to police, someone had called the police on him. …

What we found

Contradicts. A Daily Star/AP-style report published 2026-11-02 states that the DACA program 'remains in effect despite Trump's efforts to terminate it' and currently protects roughly 700,000 immigrants.[3]

Contradicts. Third Way's June 2026 memo says that rather than announce another formal termination, the administration is trying to hollow the program out from the inside, which indicates no formal termination had occurred.[4]

Contradicts. Politico (June 2026) reports renewal backlogs and halted approvals, and the HPPR piece (August 2026) describes renewal delays and expirations, not a program-wide ending; these are the closest pieces to the claim but describe erosion rather than termination.[2][5]

Context. Snopes (December 2025) reports DACA recipients can still renew and keep their status, while first-time applications are not being approved; the administration told a court it planned to restart some new adjudications.[1]

Context. DHS has stated that DACA 'does NOT confer any form of legal status' and that recipients may be arrested and deported, which describes enforcement posture rather than ending the program.[6]
