Florida's Attorney General and Governor announced on Sept 24, 2026 that 20 people were being arrested and prosecuted for illegal voting, so the core announcement is supported.

What was said

… We go. Mr. Attorney General, ah, welcome back to the program. Ah, this couldn't happen in the state of Florida. Why is that? No, we've got the toughest election security laws in the country. Just a couple weeks ago, we announced 20 plus arrests of illegal aliens that were voting here in Florida. We've got a nation-leading election police unit here in the state that looks at people that are voting multiple times, that shouldn't be voting, that are illegally ballot harvesting. …

What we found

Contradicts. Tampa Bay Times reports only 12 of the 20 had been arrested as of the announcement, and all but one of those 12 are lawful permanent residents, not illegal aliens, so 'illegal aliens' and 'over 20 arrests' overstate the record.[2]

Supports. The Florida Attorney General's office announced on Sept 24, 2026 that 20 defendants were being arrested and prosecuted for voting fraud in a statewide election-integrity operation.[3]

Supports. Tampa Bay Times reports Gov. DeSantis and state officials announced arrests and prosecutions of 20 people accused of voting illegally, with the majority not U.S. citizens.[2]

Context. The separate DHS/ICE announcement of five arrests on Oct 21–22 was a federal action, not the Florida announcement the claim describes.[1]
