The only sources reporting that Cantwell lectured at Beihang (a May 9 to June 3, 2025 visit with six lectures) are the Natalie Winters Substack and outlets that repeat it, so they are circular rather than independent corroboration.

What we found

Supports. Winters' Substack reports that Cantwell spent May 9 to June 3, 2025 at Beihang University, delivered six technical lectures, and was supported by an 'expertise introduction' program, citing a Beihang account that is not itself provided.[3]

Supports. RedState and UnveiledChina repeat the Beihang lecture account and the 2001 blacklisting, but both trace back to the same reporting and add no independent record.[4][5]

Context. The Stanford Profiles page lists Cantwell as an emeritus professor of mechanical engineering and does not mention a chairmanship or any visit to China.[2]

Context. The Reuters 2023 article on the export blacklist covers Chinese balloon-program entities and does not mention Beihang or a 2001 listing in the excerpt provided.[1]
