The claim is an allegation about what the federal government said, and multiple tier1 sources, including the U.S. Attorney's Office press release, confirm that federal prosecutors alleged more than 400 noncitizens were registered and had voted illegally in Washington.

Our two reads of who says this, and how, disagree, so it counts as the post's own claim.

We're not going super late today. I was chucking through things, ah, alright, on the feds alleging 400 plus illegal voters in Washington. What we found

Supports. The U.S. Attorney's Office for Washington's press release states that leaders of the two U.S. Attorney's Offices identified over 400 non-citizens who are registered to vote and have voted in multiple elections.[3]

Supports. AP and Reuters report that the Justice Department asked Washington to set aside ballots from more than 400 people it says may be noncitizens, identifying about 1,500 votes cast by them in prior elections.[1][2]

Supports. NBC News reports that the acting U.S. Attorney asked the Washington Secretary of State to sequester ballots from more than 400 registrants the Justice Department believes are noncitizens.[4]

Context. Many of those flagged are lawful permanent residents (green card holders), and the department had not charged anyone with a crime at the time of the allegation.[3][4]

Context. Secretary of State Steve Hobbs disputes the allegation, calling voter fraud very rare in Washington, and Reuters notes that multiple state audits have found noncitizen voting to be rare; this bears on whether the allegation is accurate, not on whether it was made.[2][5]
