The best available counts put U.S. mosques at about 2,800 (Pew, citing the Cooperative Congregational Studies Partnership, and Religion News citing the Faith Communities Today Project, both for 2020–2024), and the Hartford-based count is 2,769 for 2020, so 'more than 3,000' is not supported as of 2026-08-04.

… Uh They're chanting, you know, their, their usual chants. That's, that's in, in Dearborn. Now get me Houston, same weekend, same occasion, in the city of Houston, which again is being conquered. If you're not keep a track there, now, uh, more than 3000 mosques in the United States since 911, just since 911, when Muslim extremists attacked us, killed 3000 Americans in the worst attack on our homeland. We've let in more than 3 million Muslims, legal or illegal, mostly legal, which is scary. This is Houston, marching, similar thing. …

What we found

Contradicts. Pew Research Center's chart gives 2,800 U.S. mosques in 2020, citing Cooperative Congregational Studies Partnership counts, which is below the claimed 'more than 3,000'.[1]

Contradicts. Religion News Service reports, citing the Faith Communities Today Project, that the number of U.S. mosques went from about 1,200 in 2000 to about 2,800 in 2024, and describes mosques as the less-than-1% of the nation's houses of worship.[2][3]

Contradicts. The US Mosque Survey 2020 counted 2,769 mosques nationwide, up from 1,209 in 2000, which again falls short of more than 3,000.[4]

Context. Lower mapping-based counts (about 2,058 mosques from HIFLD/IRS data as of July 2024, and 1,126 U.S. mapped mosques in the Niyat directory) reflect incomplete data rather than a census and do not support a higher figure.[5][6]

Context. A July 2026 opinion piece says there are 'close to 3,000' mosques in the U.S., which is an approximation and not a documented count above 3,000.[7]
