Speaker Mike Johnson@SpeakerJohnsonOct 27, 2026… ✅ Erased job killing Biden-era regulations ✅ Lowest violent crime rate in 126 years ✅ Prescription drug costs see biggest drop in 60 years ✅ Trump Accounts to jumpstart young Americans' financial futures ✅ First-ever nationwide school choice program ✅ 1 million+ private sector jobs added to the economy ✅ Reshoring of American manufacturing ...and so much more! Democrats voted against ALL of this.
As of the 2026-10-27 record, more than one million private-sector jobs had been added: FactCheck.org counts 1,006,000 private-sector jobs during Trump's term through September 2026, and the DOL and White House statements from September 4 say the same.
This claim is about the present, so it is judged as of the day it was checked.
What we found
Supports. FactCheck.org, using BLS data, reports 1,006,000 private-sector jobs added during Trump's term so far, through September 2026, which is above one million.[1]
Supports. The Department of Labor's September 4, 2026 statement says the administration 'has now surpassed 1 million new private-sector jobs,' consistent with the BLS-based count.[3]
Supports. The White House and Treasury Secretary Bessent both repeat the over-one-million private-sector figure since January 2025; these are partisan sources but agree with the independent FactCheck.org count.[4][6]
Context. FactCheck.org notes the gain is far below the 1,778,000 private-sector jobs added in the preceding 20 months, and that the average monthly gain in Trump's second term has been only 39,000, so the figure is accurate but reflects a weak pace.[1]
Context. The ADP and BLS sources report monthly and quarterly private-sector flows rather than the cumulative total, so they neither confirm nor refute the cumulative figure directly.[2][5]
