Multiple outlets report, citing Status and anonymous sources, that Bartiromo passed Fox guidance and a text message to the White House, but Fox gave no reason for her exit and her lawyer calls the reports false.
The host relays this claim without endorsing it. It counts as passed on, not against the post.
What was said
… After Trump's speech in July, Fox News basically was like, "We're not touching this," and the White House noticed. And so they reached out to Maria Bartiroma, and she kind of served as an intermediary, and she basically was sending the White House, as far as this reporting goes, she was sending the White House, ah, information about Fox News editorial decision, private tech, yeah, divulging that the, that Trump speech had received scant coverage on the channel because network bosses had ordered it. So I'm even told the text message in which Fox News brass offered their guidance was shared by Bart roma with the White House, and they discovered that, and she was fired. I mean, I just, I'm gonna take contrarian views on a couple of the topics today. …

Contradicts. Bartiromo's attorney Bryan Freedman called reports that she was fired or leaked guidance "absolutely and unequivocally false" and threatened legal action; this is a party denial, not an independent finding.[3][4][5][6]
Supports. Status, as relayed by Mediaite, MS NOW and others, reported that Bartiromo shared internal Fox guidance and a text message from Fox News brass with the White House; Mediaite says this was confirmed by two sources close to the situation.[7][8][9]
Supports. CNN reported, citing a source familiar with the matter, that Fox took Bartiromo off the air after she leaked internal network guidance to the Trump White House.[4][10]
Context. Fox News and Fox News Media gave no specific reason for her departure, calling it a "business decision" and thanking her for her work, so the leak allegation has not been confirmed by the network.[1][2]
Context. The leak reporting traces largely to a single origin, Status's Oliver Darcy, which did not disclose its sourcing, so the independent corroboration is limited.[8][11]
