Fox News Media announced it was ending Maria Bartiromo's employment effective immediately, calling it a 'business decision', which supports the claim that Fox fired her. Her attorney disputes that she was fired, but that denial is from her own side and does not contradict the company's own statement.

This claim is in the show notes, the publisher's own words. It counts against the post, once.

What we found

Supports. Reuters and AP report that Fox News Media announced on September 3, 2026 that it was parting ways with Bartiromo effective immediately, with no reason given.[1][2]

Supports. A Fox spokesperson called the move a 'business decision', and Fox's release said she was 'no longer with Fox News Media' effective that day.[4][5]

Supports. CNN, citing an anonymous source, reports that Fox leadership decided to remove Bartiromo in August, which points to a company-initiated termination.[3]

Context. Her attorney, Bryan Freedman, called reports that she was fired or no longer employed by Fox 'absolutely and unequivocally false', but the denial is from her side and does not dispute the company's statement.[5]

Context. Fox's announcement used the phrase 'parts ways' rather than 'fired', but the company-initiated, immediate separation is what the claim's 'fired' describes.[6][7]
