The figure is supported: about 30,000 noncitizens received voter-registration postcards in Colorado in 2022, and the error traced to a database glitch involving an ERIC-provided list. But the sources say the Colorado Secretary of State's office mailed the invitations, not ERIC, and nothing shows the recipients were 'criminal'.

What was said

… based on the information available, it is intended to pad voter rolls and create plausible deniability so that when they are found to, you know, have 6,600, uh, illegals voting in their elections or on their roles with the ability to vote in their elections, or they're found to have sent 30,000 invitations to register to vote to a bunch of criminal invaders, they can be like, "Oh, man, it was just a data coding mismatch. Oh, it's a problem with the software. It's a glitch. It's a human error. It was a, it was all, it's always something." …

What we found

Contradicts. The sources attribute the mailing to Colorado's Secretary of State office, not to ERIC. ERIC supplied a list of 102,000 names that was compared against a state driver's-license database, and the resulting error led the state to send the postcards.[1][2][3][4]

Contradicts. The sources describe the recipients only as noncitizens. None describes them as criminals, so 'criminal invaders' is rhetoric the record does not support.[1][3]

Supports. Multiple reports say about 30,000 noncitizens received invitations or postcards encouraging them to register to vote in Colorado, which the state called a mistake.[1][2][3][4]

Context. The Colorado office said the error was fixed, that noncitizens who tried to register would be blocked, and that the letter did not allege the 30,000 registered or voted.[1][3]
