Multiple tier1 and tier2 sources (BBC, Politico, CNN, Washington Examiner) confirm that on September 18-19, 2026 Trump announced via Truth Social that he was banning CNN, MS NOW (formerly MSNBC) and Politico from the White House, so the claim held on 2026-09-19.

What was said

… These are stories that Donald Trump clearly does not like to see, whether it is reported on networks like ours or CNN, or outlets like Politico. What we found

Supports. BBC reports Trump said in a Truth Social post that he was 'immediately' banning CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House, with the post dated Friday 19 September 2026.[2]

Supports. Politico and CNN both report Trump's Truth Social announcement naming CNN, MS NOW and Politico as banned from the White House, citing 'constant reporting FAKE NEWS.'[3][4]

Supports. Washington Examiner and Entertainment Weekly quote the post saying 'effective immediately, I am banning' the three outlets from the White House.[5][6]

Context. CNN reported no indication the administration had taken steps to implement the ban, and reporters remained in the White House on the day, so the announced ban was not clearly enforced as of the claim date.[2][4]

Context. A federal judge later ordered the White House to restore access (Oct 13), and in October the outlets amended their lawsuit; these later developments do not change the September 19 state of affairs.[1][7][8]
