The sources consistently report that the deported Haitian national, Wisteguens Jean Quely Charles, had 17 criminal convictions in Massachusetts, and that these came within a roughly two-year span (August 2022 to August 2024).

… He was combative on the plane. He was combative to the end, which originated in Louisiana, and he made profane, threatening remarks about President Trump and his family while on board, per DHS. He had 17, over 17, criminal convictions in just a two year span in the state of Massachusetts. He was initially admitted to the United States back in 2013. What we found

Supports. DHS's primary statement says the deported individual's criminal history includes 17 convictions, and the Fox News Politics post on X repeats the 17-conviction count for the same deportee.[1][3]

Supports. ICE ERO Boston's January 2025 release says Charles was arrested, charged, and convicted for 17 crimes between Aug. 16, 2022, and Aug. 14, 2024, and that he has 17 criminal convictions in Massachusetts, matching the two-year span.[2]

Context. A later Fox News report aggregated on Ground News describes Charles as having "more than 17" convictions, which loosely fits the claim's "over 17" wording, while the official releases give exactly 17.[4]

Context. The claimant's own post hedges with "17, over 17," which the extraction reduced to "over 17." The official count of 17 is the figure the record supports.
