Enes Kanter Freedom was ejected from a WNBA game between the Chicago Sky and the Indiana Fever after wearing a shirt defining a woman as an adult human female.

What we found

Supports. AP, BBC, and The Athletic all report that Kanter Freedom was ejected from the Sky–Fever game on Sunday night after a confrontation with Natasha Cloud.[1][3][4]

Supports. Multiple sources state he was sitting courtside wearing a black shirt reading "WOMAN noun. adult human female."[1][3][4][5]

Supports. Reuters reports the Sky then banned him from the arena, and the team's owner described the ban on August 25.[2][6]

Context. The sources describe the ejection as following a verbal altercation with Cloud after he stood and stepped toward the court. The claim's phrasing 'after wearing a shirt' is a loose causal link, but he was wearing the shirt during the game, so this is a minor framing point rather than a contradiction.[1][3][5]

Woman, noun, ah, adult human female, across his shirt, the definition of a woman. Ah, he's doing nothing wrong, and this, ah, this lady Natasha Cloud who's playing in the game, ah, she sprints towards him in the second half, and she starts screaming at him. Not clear why, other than he's wearing a T-shirt. Ah, and he stands up, he stretches his arms out, and he's like, what, what? And, of course, his wingspan is like half the court, which just reminds you again that men should not be playing in women's basketball. And they kick him out of the game.”Post →
