Multiple sources describe Willem Sassen as a Dutch-born war correspondent and propagandist during WWII, with the EHRI record specifically placing him in the Nazi Party propaganda department. Sources more often place his propaganda work in an SS unit (Waffen-SS), so the NSDAP label is a defensible reading rather than a contradiction.

What was said

… OSI, but I'm sure he didn't have a happy life, um where he was living out his twilight years, but because of me the deal with Willem Sassen, Willem Sassen was a, he was a Flemish national socialist, and. What we found

Supports. EHRI's archival note states Sassen, a half-Dutch, half-German man, served in the Waffen-SS and later in the Nazi Party propaganda department.[2]

Supports. Wikipedia describes Sassen as a Dutch war correspondent who joined the first Netherlands Propaganda Kompanie and worked as an SS war reporter on the Eastern Front.[3]

Supports. Marc Parry's review of Stangneth's work describes Sassen, a Dutch-born Nazi SS volunteer, as a propagandist in WWII who joined an SS propaganda unit of war correspondents and broadcasters.[4]

Supports. The Yale LUX record describes Sassen as a Dutch Nazi collaborator, Waffen-SS officer and journalist, and the NRC reports he was an SS war correspondent on the Eastern Front.[1][5]

Context. The BHIC article on propaganda concerns a different Sassen, an NSB mayor in the Netherlands, so it neither supports nor refutes the claim about Willem Sassen.[6]

Context. No fact-checker or source directly examines the claim's wording, so the verdict rests on documentary descriptions of Sassen's role rather than a formal rating.
