No source reports SLF's Texas spending as of 2026-09-15, so the $50.2 million figure is neither confirmed nor refuted. The nearest data points are a Texas Tribune report (2026-09-22) of 'nearly $70 million' already spent and Politico's $131 million by Oct. 10, which are consistent with a lower mid-September figure but do not establish $50.2 million.

This claim is about the present, so it is judged as of the day it was checked.

… million major city within in the United States and kill tens of millions of people, because then the blowback against innocent Muslims would be absolutely terrible. Mm-hmm, yes, that's true, that's true. All right, let's do some jokes on a superior waterbed. I told you that the SLF, the Senate Leadership Fund, I'm going away, is playing in the race now in a big way: $50.2 million. That is a significant buy, even in a state as big as Texas. If current trends continue, the Paxton campaign will raise $200 million. …

What we found

Context. The Texas Tribune (2026-09-22) reports SLF 'has already spent nearly $70 million on advertising in the race,' a later snapshot that is not contradictory to $50.2 million on 2026-09-15 but does not confirm it.[3]

Context. Politico (2026-10-10) reports SLF poured another $60 million into Texas, bringing its Texas spending to $131 million, which describes later cumulative totals rather than the mid-September figure.[2]

Context. Reuters (2026-10-21) and OpenSecrets-based reporting (2026-10-23) give SLF totals of roughly $174 million nationally and Texas PAC spending of about $149 million, which are different measures (national totals or the Texas PAC vehicle) and do not address the Sept. 15 Texas figure.[1][4][5]

Context. The claim's figure falls below the nearest reported snapshot (about $70 million on Sept. 22), which is directionally consistent with rising spending, but the sources give no direct figure for the claim's date.[3]
