Multiple transcripts and a news report confirm that Trump said at the Grand Island, Nebraska rally that he passed gas stations at $1.95 and $1.85 a gallon, so the claim about what he stated holds.

What we found

Supports. The Rev transcript of the October 5, 2026 Grand Island rally records Trump saying he passed a gas station at $1.95 a gallon and another at $1.85 a gallon.[2]

Supports. The Roll Call Factba.se transcript of the same rally records the identical $1.95 and $1.85 statement, timestamped in the speech.[3]

Supports. MS NOW reports that at the Monday night rally Trump recalled seeing gas stations advertising $1.95 and $1.85 a gallon while driving through Iowa.[4]

Contradicts. A self-published blog argues the $1.85 station never existed, citing GasBuddy data for Iowa from January 27, a different date from the speech; this is a low-credibility source and does not address whether Trump made the statement.[5][6]

Context. The transcripts place the stations in Iowa ('I was riding in Iowa'), so the claim's omission of Iowa is a dropped detail rather than a contradiction of the statement itself.[2][3][4]

Context. The AP's 'In his own words' timeline records Trump claiming in February that he saw $1.85 gasoline in Iowa, showing he repeated the Iowa price claim in other speeches.[1][7]
