Fetterman's September 9, 2026 video at the Republican midterm convention praised and introduced Sen. Dave McCormick, and several outlets (CNN, The New Republic, The Mirror) describe it as an endorsement, so the core claim holds as of 2026-09-12.
This claim is about the present, so it is judged as of the day it was checked.

… Yes, I'm a Democrat. Why am I here talking to you today? Because, well, I'm a common sense Democrat. I'm always going to stand with America. I'm always going to reject the extremes and socialism and that anti-American way of life. Dave McCormick is the kind of senator that gets the job done, and he's going to fight for Pennsylvania. I'm proud to count him as my friend. Right back over my shoulder, that's the iconic US. Steel mill, and that's exactly the kind of thing that will work together and will work with President Trump to fight and defend the steel way of life right here in the Steel Valley. …

Supports. CNN's caption and the New Republic describe the video as Fetterman endorsing McCormick, and the convention introduction was on September 9, 2026.[3][5][6]
Supports. AP and NBC report that Fetterman appeared on video at the Republican convention, praising McCormick as 'the kind of senator that gets the job done' and introducing him.[1][4]
Context. McCormick is already a sitting senator, so the endorsement was of him in his current role rather than for a 2026 Senate race; this is a minor imprecision in the claim's wording.[2][7]
Context. An August 2026 report says Fetterman would not campaign against McCormick and called him a 'great guy' and 'my friend', which is consistent with the later endorsement and does not contradict it.[7][8]
