Read literally as zero illegal crossings, the claim is contradicted: DOJ reported 182 illegal aliens charged in one week of October, and Abbott cited a 'slight uptick' in crossings on Oct 2.

This claim is about the present, so it is judged as of the day it was checked.

What was said

… Your thoughts on this? Well, look, this is exhibit A of us doing what we said we were going to do, right? President Trump ran and promised that he would secure the border. He has Every Republican ran on that promise. We have there is no illegal immigrants coming over our Texas border, and that's because we did what we said we were going to do, right, in the 2024 election, and thank goodness we've got the backup now. Of course, we did not. We had a hostile federal government—they were actually tearing down some of the border security, concertina wire and other things that the state of Texas was putting up—and now they're …

What we found

Contradicts. A DOJ press release says 204 people, including 182 illegal aliens, were charged with immigration and border-security crimes in the week of Oct. 9-15, 2026, with 16 charged with illegal entry, so illegal crossings were still occurring and being prosecuted.[2]

Contradicts. Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said on Oct. 2, 2026 there had been a 'slight uptick' in people coming across the southern border, which contradicts the claim that none are crossing.[3]

Supports. Houston Public Media reports the Trump administration says the drop in border crossings has been unprecedented and has reached historic lows, and AP reports illegal crossings have plummeted, supporting the 'trickle' reading of the claim.[1][4]

Context. The claim departs from the passage only in its absolute wording; the post itself hedged with 'this come down to a trickle, if even that,' so the poster's intended meaning is near-zero rather than literal zero. The 4,170-arrest DHS figure is dated Oct. 29, after the Oct. 26 claim date, so it was not used for the verdict.
