Sources show Talarico voted no on the 2025 House bill (SB 10) requiring Ten Commandments displays in every classroom, citing the official House record vote, and Alternet reports him among the lawmakers who voted against it. The claim's core is supported and no source contradicts it; the 2023 bill failed and he opposed it, which is consistent with the claim.

… You know, where they're coming after our children and their safety. You know, Talarico, my Democrat opponent, they voted to let men into girls' sports. Supports. Teach the Vote (ATPE) lists Talarico's position on the 2025 House vote on the Ten Commandments bill as 'Voted no,' citing Record Vote #3494 in the House journal.[1][2]
Supports. Alternet, reporting on the May 2025 House passage, identifies Talarico as one of the Texas lawmakers who voted against the Ten Commandments classroom bill.[3]
Supports. Wikipedia and Newsweek report Talarico opposed the 2025 SB 10 mandate, calling a point of order and vehemently opposing it on the floor.[4][5]
Context. Fox 4 reports the law was later upheld by the Fifth Circuit and took effect, so the Ten Commandments requirement is the law Talarico voted against.[7]
Context. Talarico also opposed the 2023 version of the bill, which failed; the claim's reference to 'the law' most naturally refers to the 2025 bill that passed.[6][8]
