No source establishes that 12 million Texans live under a Soros-funded or Soros-supported district attorney. The only source with that exact figure is a politician's podcast remark, which is circular, and the sources that name Soros-backed Texas DAs give no population total, so the claim is neither confirmed nor refuted.

This claim is about the present, so it is judged as of the day it was checked.

What we found

Context. Sources name several Texas DAs who received Soros-linked money, including Bexar County's Joe Gonzales, Dallas County's John Creuzot, Travis County's Jose Garza, and Fort Bend County's Brian Middleton, but none of them gives a population total for the districts involved.[1][2][3]

Context. A 2024 Soros-prosecutor mapping report estimates that Soros-backed DAs nationally represent over 70 million people, a national figure that does not establish any Texas population number.[4]

Context. The 12 million figure appears only in a October 2026 podcast by Texas AG candidate Mayes Middleton, a repetition of the claim rather than an independent record, so it provides no corroboration.[5]
