The sources confirm Maher dined with Trump at the White House on October 15, about a week before the post, so the dinner and its timing fit. The four-hour length is disputed: Maher described it as four hours, while Trump wrote that it 'lasted two hours, maybe less' and said 'We have the timestamps.'

What we found

Contradicts. Trump disputed the four-hour length in a Truth Social post, writing that the dinner 'didn't last four hours, it lasted two hours, maybe less' and citing timestamps.[1]

Supports. Multiple outlets report that Maher dined with Trump, Kid Rock and Stephen A. Smith at the White House on October 15, 2026, which falls in the week before the October 24 post.[2][3][4][5][6][7]

Supports. Maher himself described the visit as lasting four hours, and the claim repeats that account.[1][6][8]

Context. The 'four hours' figure rests on Maher's own account and is contested by the other party to the dinner, so the duration cannot be settled from these sources.[1][6]
