Louisiana Secretary of State data, as reported by KPLC and WBRZ, shows Black early votes exceeded the full 2022 early-voting total within about a week of early voting: KPLC reports 179,094 Black early votes through Oct. 27 versus 98,008 in 2022, and WBRZ reports 123,568 Black early votes with the 2022 total nearly 25,000 lower.

… In Georgia, they're up 15%, while ballots from white voters are down 3%. Black voters in Florida are using in-person early voting at twice the rate they did in 2022. That's according to Michael McDonald of the University of Florida Election Lab. What we found

Supports. KPLC reports Black early voting statewide at 179,094 votes through Oct. 27, 2026, up from 98,008 in the 2022 midterm early-voting period, so the current total already exceeds the full 2022 figure.[2]

Supports. WBRZ reports 123,568 Black early votes during the current early-voting period, which it says has already surpassed the 2022 early-voting Black turnout by nearly 25,000 votes.[3]

Context. The Louisiana early-voting total was 520,942 as of Oct. 28 (WAFB, WVUE), and the AP advance-vote tracker lists 530,507 advance ballots for Louisiana as of Nov. 1, which is consistent with the statewide surge but does not break out Black voters.[1][4][5]

Context. Early voting began Oct. 21, so a week into voting falls around Oct. 28; the Oct. 27 Secretary of State data used by KPLC covers roughly that window.[2][6]
