None of the sources give a count of J-1 visa holders working as nannies, so the 10,000 figure cannot be graded in either direction.
This claim is about the present, so it is judged as of the day it was checked.

… That was the last number in 2025: 275,000 people in one year on these J1 exchange visas. That's not counting any family they bring with them. About 100,000 of them were working these summer jobs. Another 32,000 were working as camp counselors. Context. The American Immigration Council fact sheet lists nanny as one work-based J-1 category but gives no count for it.[2]
Context. A Wikipedia table gives 21,449 au pair participants in 2022, a childcare category that is distinct from nannies and does not directly establish a nanny count.[3]
Context. The CIS report gives summer-job figures of about 105,000 and 32,000 camp counselors for 2025 but no nanny figure. Its source is an advocacy organization, and the post's own remarks are the claimant's words, not evidence.[4]
Context. The State Department J-1 page gives only the overall figure of around 300,000 exchange visitors per year and no category breakdown for nannies.[1]
