The sources show that Ashe Epp (the post's author, Ashe in America) was named as a defendant in a federal lawsuit filed by the NAACP, League of Women Voters and Mi Familia Vota in March 2022, after the 2021 canvassing project.
What we found
Supports. A GiveSendGo page from the defendants' side says Ashe Epp was among the defendants sued in March 2022 by the NAACP, League of Women Voters and Mi Familia Vota over alleged voter intimidation.[1]
Context. The Colorado Newsline piece from 2022 mentions Ashe in America in the context of a county clerk's Telegram post, but does not address any lawsuit against him or any statement to legislators.[2]
Context. No source addresses the claimed 2021 statement to Colorado legislators that they are 'not above the law', nor shows that the lawsuit was prompted by that statement; the suit cited voter intimidation, which is a different basis.[1]
