The House passed the CLARITY Act (H.R. 3633) on July 17, 2025, by a 294-134 vote, which is more than a year before the post on 2026-08-11. The 2022 H.R. 8157 entry with the same name was only introduced and never passed, so it is a different bill and does not bear on this claim.

What we found

Supports. The House Clerk's roll call record for H.R. 3633, the CLARITY Act, shows it passed on 17-Jul-2025 by a 294-134 vote.[2]

Supports. House Financial Services Committee materials say the House passed the CLARITY Act one year before July 17, 2026, and a press release from Rep. Johnson dated July 17, 2025 confirms passage by a 294-134 vote.[3][4]

Supports. Reuters reports that the House passed its version of the crypto bill in July, consistent with the July 2025 passage date.[1]

Context. The 2022 Congress.gov entry for H.R. 8157 is also named the Clarity Act but was only introduced and referred to committee, so it is a different bill and does not contradict the claim.[5]
