Multiple sources report that Fox issued internal guidance to avoid promoting or covering Trump's July 16 speech, and that Fox largely skipped coverage the morning after.

What was said

… They've been very successful in continuing obstruction and preventing the evidence from getting into a court of law every single time. Alright, Trump had his speech, and there was a collective yawn. I don't know if you saw this week, but Fox News literally advised their entire network, on the day after the speech, do not talk about the speech. That's how successful they've been, which is zero. What we found

Supports. A screenshot of an internal Fox message, obtained by Just the News, says "We don't want to promote it or push to the speech at all" and "We don't want to do 2020 election segments at all Thurs or Friday."[5]

Supports. CNN reports that the directive told Fox Business shows to avoid covering the prime-time speech, and that the flagship Fox News channel barely followed up on it afterward.[1]

Supports. Status reports that Fox News instructed senior employees to steer clear of giving credence to Trump's claims, and that the day after the address Fox conspicuously avoided covering them.[2]

Supports. Fox & Friends, the network's flagship morning show, omitted mention of the speech the following day, and the speech saw an almost total blackout across Fox's airwaves in the days after.[3][4]

Contradicts. Fox News did air the speech live in full, and the directive was issued by Fox Business management (Ralph Giordano) to its shows, so the claim that the entire network was told not to talk about the speech is broader than the reported memo.[1][6]
