No source reports Klebek saying he is no longer a Democrat or calling himself a Libertarian Republican. The April coverage that exists (Fox 11, via the Megyn Kelly podcast summary) concerns his falling out with Swalwell, not a party switch, and the claimant's own passage cannot corroborate the claim.
The host relays this claim without endorsing it. It counts as passed on, not against the post.
What was said
… Um, he did do an interview with the media in April, this guy Klubek, and take a look at what he said after he kicked Eric Swallwell out. He's like, I had no idea that this guy was a scumbag. I got rid of him. In fact, I'm so disgusted by him, I'm not even a Democrat anymore. I'm a Libertarian Republican, he claimed, is what he told the media. Cut to what we just wrapped up: a one-on-one interview with Stephen Klubek. At one point, he was running for governor of California, but he dropped out to endorse Eric Swallwell, a decision he clearly regrets. You suspect this at all? No, I was blown away. …

Context. A 2026-10-28 podcast summary reports that Klebek told Fox 11 in April that his friendship with Swalwell was over, but it says nothing about his party affiliation.[1]
Context. The claimant's post asserts the party switch and attributes it to a April media interview, but the post is not evidence and no independent source confirms the statement.
Context. Other sources in the set (party-switch lists, state party guides, unrelated transcripts and news clips) do not mention Klebek or any statement about his party identification.[2][3][4][5]
