As of 2026-08-18, the redrawn Florida 20th District was not majority Black: AP reports it is about 42% Black, a plurality rather than a majority, and WLRN says the redistricting made it a non-Black majority district. The claim matches the district's pre-redistricting profile, which some older sources still show, but the record as of the posting date contradicts it.

What was said

… What was that? Oh, the head of the DNC is, is running right now in that race, and they're all running against each other in these redrawn districts, and it's hilarious what's going down. In fact, this district, the media keeps telling everybody, is majority Black, and that, as a result, there's a lot of resentment in the Democrat Party that Dabi Wasserman Schultz, a white lady, is running in a majority Black district, and the belief is that she's not entitled to, like, the, this. What we found

Contradicts. AP (Aug 17, 2026) reports the new Florida 20th is 42% Black, 23% Hispanic and 4% Asian, with the rest white, and describes it as a majority-or-plurality Black district only in contrast to a white lawmaker's rarity.[1]

Contradicts. WLRN (Aug 14, 2026) states the district was newly redrawn to make it a non-Black majority district, eliminating its Black-majority status.[2]

Contradicts. The Inquirer (June 14, 2026) describes the 20th as having a plurality of Black voters, and says only the 24th will remain a majority-Black district in Florida.[3]

Context. Older or pre-redistricting figures, such as Wikipedia's 49.1% Black and Population Review's 50.6%, reflect the former boundaries, and PollCheck's 2026-lines estimate of 41.6% Black is consistent with plurality rather than majority.[4][5][6]
