The claim that Alwaleed bought a 14% stake in Fox News in 2005 is not supported. The sources report that in 2005 his holding in News Corp., Fox News's former parent, rose to about 5.5% (roughly 5.4% per SourceWatch), and his later stake in 21st Century Fox was about 6.6%.

… France did not care, did not want to take any action and they allowed them to grow to the point where they are. Look, I remember Paris Burning back in 2005. I remember being on Fox News talking about Paris Burning in 2005. That's when Bandar bin Talal, the Saudi Prince, uh, who bought 14% shares of Fox News back in 2005 said, Well, all I had to do is send an email to Fox News and they changed the banner on the bottom instead of Muslim riots. They called it youth riots in France. This has been happening for 20 years. Exactly. So now this is exactly why we need to speak up in America and thank you for mentioning my organization, Rob. Contradicts. PolitiFact reports that in 2005 Alwaleed increased his holding in News Corp., the former parent of Fox News, to 5.5%, not 14%.[1][4]
Contradicts. FactCheck.org and Snopes report that Kingdom Holding, Alwaleed's investment firm, owns about 6.6% of 21st Century Fox, the parent of Fox News, a figure well short of 14%.[2][3]
Contradicts. SourceWatch gives his 2005 News Corp. stake as about 5.4%, consistent with the 5.5% figure and inconsistent with 14%.[5]
Context. Snopes and FactCheck.org note that he is a minority shareholder and not a co-owner of Fox News, which undercuts the idea of a large direct ownership stake.[2][3]
Context. Wikipedia and Alchetron put his News Corp. stake at about 5% in the late 1990s and about 7% by 2010, so no source places it at 14% in 2005.[6][7]
Context. The claim's wording follows the claimant's passage, which said he bought 14% of Fox News in 2005; the claimant's own words are not evidence, and the sources do not support that figure.
