The claim that none of the five camps had gas chambers is contradicted for Mauthausen and Ravensbrück by Yad Vashem and other historical sources describing gas chambers there, though Buchenwald is supported. Bergen-Belsen and Theresienstadt are not addressed in the sources.

About what went on during War two when, for example, I think I raised this last time at Nuremberg and in the aftermath. People would casually bandy that at Buchenwald or Bergen-Belsen and Thracia or Mauthausen or Ravensbruck, that there were gas chambers and these were death camps. Well, I mean, not none of that is true, and it's not even, I mean, not even the most staunch proponents of of Holocaust lore claim that today, you know, so there was a lot of perjured testimony, a lot of confused allegations, a lot of, a lot of outright fabrications. …

Contradicts. The National WWII Museum reports that the SS ordered a gas chamber built at Mauthausen in 1941 and began gassing prisoners there with poison gas in March 1942.[3]
Contradicts. A German historical institute document (Dachau archive) reports that prisoners were murdered by gas at Ravensbrück in an improvised gas chamber and at Mauthausen and Gusen.[4]
Supports. The Chapman Holocaust History LibGuide states that there were no gas chambers at Buchenwald, supporting that part of the claim.[1]
Context. The sources give no information on gas chambers at Bergen-Belsen or Theresienstadt, so those parts of the claim are not addressed.
Context. The Holocaust-denial documents (The Lie of the Six Million, and the Mark Weber pamphlet) argue against gas chambers, but they are not credible or authoritative and cannot support the claim.[5][6]
