The 4.5 million figure matches sources from the posting date (about 4.5 million Texans had voted by Oct. 25–26).

What was said

… The jump is largely, is especially large, in Republican-leaning states with competitive Senate races. Early voting is up 69% in Kansas, 41% in Maine, 24% in Iowa. In Texas, 4.5 million ballots have been cast, compared with 3 million to this point in 2022. Michigan has already surpassed a million ballots. What we found

Supports. Community Impact and Houston Public Media report about 4.5 million Texans had cast ballots in the first seven days of early voting, through Oct. 25, which matches the posting date.[2][3]

Supports. The Texan reports first-week turnout exceeded the 2022 midterm by about 45 percent, which implies roughly 3.1 million ballots at the same point in 2022.[4]

Context. KERA reports that at the same point in early voting, 2022 turnout was about 21% of registered voters, which implies a 2022 count somewhat above 3 million, so the exact 2022 baseline is only approximated by the sources.[5]

Context. The AP and Texas Tribune coverage of later totals (7.4–7.7 million by the end of early voting) postdates the claim and does not change its as-of-posting accuracy.[1][6]
