Multiple tier1 sources (PolitiFact, Snopes, Reuters, NBC) confirm Trump said at an Oct. 5, 2026 Nebraska rally, "Let them take out Los Angeles" and "let 'em take out San Diego," so the substance of the claim holds.

This claim is in the show notes, the publisher's own words. It counts against the post, once.

What we found

Supports. Reuters and Snopes quote Trump at the Nebraska rally saying, "They could take out a city. Let 'em take out Los Angeles, let 'em take out San Diego."[1][2]

Supports. NBC and Newsweek report that Trump repeated the idea at a San Antonio rally, saying "Let them hit Los Angeles," which shows the same kind of remark was made again.[5][6]

Context. Trump and the White House later said he was describing the cost of higher gasoline prices and was not inviting an attack, while Snopes rated the attribution of the words as correct.[1][2][7]

Context. The quoted wording in the claim, "bomb," differs from the "take out" and "hit" wording the sources report, so the claim paraphrases rather than quotes him verbatim.[1][3][4]
