The Parnas Perspective · · from the transcriptPost →What we found
Supports. AP reports the ads cost at least $1.5 million in federal funds, and Politico and Independent report about $10 to $11.6 million spent from a $20 million Homeland Security contract.[1][2][4]
Supports. BBC and DW report Trump said he would stop using taxpayer funds for the ads going forward, implicitly acknowledging prior use.[3][5]
Supports. CNBC and ABC report the ads that already aired were funded by government money and Trump hedged on reimbursement ('We'll decide').[6][7]
Context. Later reporting (Common Beat/Judge rulings) found the administration's spending on the ads likely unlawful, consistent with taxpayer funds having been used.[8][9]
