Iran's strikes did damage US bases in the region, and AP's satellite-based analysis documents damage or destruction of structures at 26 bases and other sites. The sources do not support the stronger claim that the bases were obliterated, since the AP findings describe partial damage and the 'obliterated' wording comes from an Iranian official with an interest in the claim.

… Let's be very clear about that. But even if you are some, like, neocon warmonger, this is what you envisioned it to look like: running out of weapons in the first few days, having all of the US. Contradicts. The AP findings describe damage and destruction of some buildings and structures across many bases, not the total obliteration of US bases in the region; the bases were damaged, not wholly destroyed.[1][4][5]
Supports. AP analysis finds more than 115 drone or missile strikes damaged or destroyed structures on 26 military bases and other sites with US equipment through August, based on satellite imagery and regional officials.[1][4][6][7]
Supports. Satellite imagery shows significantly damaged hangars at Al Dhafra and numerous destroyed facilities at Ali Al Salem, so real and substantial damage to US bases is documented.[1][6]
Context. The 'nearly all bases obliterated' wording comes from Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi, an interested party, and is not corroborated by the independent AP analysis.[8]
Context. A Senate letter cites press reports, video, and leaked photos of damage to US bases but notes DoD has not published damage estimates, so the full extent of destruction remains unofficially characterized.[2][3]
