The sources do not address starvation or lack of morale among active-duty sailors or soldiers as of 2026-08-14, and the post's specific account of sailors on an aircraft carrier is not covered.

This claim is about the present, so it is judged as of the day it was checked.

What was said

… They're, they're supposed to, you know, being, being starved and, and having no morale, they're supposed to then what, invade and defeat Iran? Um, ah, how, I mean, it's, it's, it's absurd at every level, but this is the way our, our active duty soldiers are being treated by the Trump administration. So, very sad day for active duty and, and for veterans who are watching this, who are appalled at the way that these sailors are being treated. Alright, well, look, I don't want to dwell on that issue. …

What we found

Context. The only source on food insecurity among troops is an unrated 2025 Progressive magazine opinion piece claiming about 24 percent of service members experience food insecurity, which is a different matter from starvation and predates the post.[6]

Context. Congressional investigations published in July 2026 concern inadequate medical care for servicemembers injured in a March drone strike at Port Shuaiba in Kuwait, not starvation, morale, or treatment of sailors on an aircraft carrier.[3][4][5]

Context. Snopes-rated coverage of troop evacuation from Bahrain and the Pentagon firings reporting do not address starvation or morale of active-duty personnel, so they provide no direct evidence either way.[1][2][7]

Context. The claim's specific assertions (starvation, death by injection by commanders, sailors on an aircraft carrier) appear in the post as rhetoric and are not substantiated by any listed source; absence of coverage is not contradiction.
