The sources confirm that mRNA COVID-19 vaccines instruct cells to produce the viral spike protein and fragments of it, which is a non-human (viral) protein, so the literal claim holds.

This claim is about the present, so it is judged as of the day it was checked.

… Some are more accurate than others. The most accurate is called HR, again, homologous recombination, but it can only work during certain phases of the cell, uh, the basically the, the division phase. So the thing that you need to know is that mRNA injections, which, of course, take over your cells and the ribosomes, which produce proteins, so basically the protein synthesis factories of your cells, they are taken over by mRNA, and then your body begins to churn out non-human proteins and protein fragments. And the research shows that these suppress your chromosomal or genetic code repair mechanisms by 85 to 90%. …

What we found

Supports. The CDC states that mRNA vaccines tell cells to make a piece of the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein, which the immune system then recognizes.[5]

Supports. The AP and Reuters fact-checks describe the mRNA as instructing cells to produce the spike protein, a protein derived from the virus rather than the human body.[1][2]

Supports. A 2026 review states that the spike protein and fragments of it are presented to the immune system after the cell's protein-making machinery reads the vaccine mRNA.[6]

Supports. A 2023 Science report found that mRNA vaccines can prompt cells to make small amounts of unintended (frameshifted) proteins, which is consistent with the claim that non-human protein fragments are produced.[8]

Context. Snopes notes that the proteins produced are foreign to the body's own DNA-regulated proteins, but it, Reuters, and others state that the mRNA does not alter DNA, is broken down within days, and that there is no evidence of harm from these proteins.[2][3][4][7]
