Guinness World Records (2026-10-27) and NME (2025-12-30) both report 22 total weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the Mariah Carey song, matching the claim as of the 2026-09-04 post date. The AP (2026-09-22) and Yahoo (2026-09-22) later report that Ella Langley's 'Choosin' Texas' passed it with 23 weeks, which does not make the earlier claim false.
