What we found

Contradicts. Afro DMV reports that the 67 undocumented victims' names and even identities were harder to confirm, which cuts against the claim that all 67 were identified.[3]

Context. The 9/11 Memorial & Museum estimate of 67 undocumented immigrant deaths is reported as an estimate, not a confirmed identified count.[2][3][4]

Context. FactCheck.org says it does not know how many victims were illegal immigrants, and VOA's 2001 report says many identities remained unknown.[1][5]
