The Briefing with Jen PsakiOct 23, 2026
Multiple sources show Colom opposes the Iran war and has said he wants to end it, including pledging to 'fight to get out the war' and 'end the president's war in Iran.' The claim matches the post's framing of Colom as the candidate who would get the US out of the war, and the position was documented before the 2026-10-23.
A guest makes this claim. Listeners heard it, so it counts against the post, and on the guest's own record.
This claim is about the present, so it is judged as of the day it was checked.
What we found

Supports. At a joint rally in late September, Colom criticized the US-Iran military conflict and its costs, and campaigned on less involvement in international conflicts.[3]
Supports. Colom told a voter guide he opposes the war, saying Congress must declare war and that the people need a voice in such decisions.[4]
Supports. Colom said the war with Iran must end quickly to bring prices down, and that Congress should hold hearings on the mission.[5]
Context. Colom's stated position is grounded in congressional war powers rather than a detailed foreign policy platform, so 'ending involvement' is his stated goal and not a fully developed plan.[6]
