The claim is false on both its superlative and its date. Tier1 fact-checkers (FactCheck.org, PolitiFact, BBC) found that the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act was not the largest tax cut in U.S. history, and the 2025 One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which Republicans passed that year, is also not the largest (the Tax Foundation ranks it sixth).

What was said

We have a better record to run on. And the American people know what is happening here. Republicans have delivered on our promises in 2024. We brought down cost. We. We cut their taxes and the largest tax cut in u. S. History. We made their streets safer. We returned to American dominance. The democrats voted against all of that. And people are looking at record over rhetoric.

What we found

Contradicts. FactCheck.org states that Trump's claim 'I gave you the largest tax cut in history' is not true either as a percentage of GDP or in inflation-adjusted dollars.[1]

Contradicts. PolitiFact rates Trump's 'largest tax cut in history' claim False, noting the 2017 cut was not the largest in history.[2]

Contradicts. BBC fact-check finds Trump's tax cuts were the eighth-largest since 1918 as a share of GDP and the fourth-largest in inflation-adjusted dollars since 1940, citing the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget.[4]

Contradicts. The Tax Foundation finds the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, passed in summer 2025, is not the largest tax cut in American history but the sixth largest measured against GDP.[5]

Contradicts. The 2017 tax law and the 2025 OBBBA were passed in 2017 and 2025 respectively; the sources do not describe any major 2024 Republican tax cut bill, so the year 2024 in the claim is unsupported.[1][3][5]

Context. The source passage is a claimant's remark ('We cut their taxes and the largest tax cut in u.s. history') with no year, so the 2024 date was added during extraction and is not part of the original statement.
